Provincetown after dark is as vibrant and exciting as any city. Whist most dance bars have a large gay clientele, the crowds are as eclectic as they can be. A couple of general points though, cover charges apply in season, bars have to close by law at 1.00am and all bars and clubs are NON SMOKING.

The ATLANTIC HOUSE (A HOUSE)   - Year Round
Located on Masonic Place, perhaps the most popular entertainment complex in town. The A House is one of the oldest continuously operating pubs in the country. There are three seperate bars in this 1700's Inn: The Dance Bar - the largest bar and a great place to dance the night away, also features themed nights and shows; The LIttle Bar - an intimate bar with a wood burning fireplace in the fall and winter; The Macho Bar - primarily catering to a male leather/levi crowd.

THE BOATSLIP   - Seasonal
Located at 161 Commercial. The home of the world famous "Tea Dance" which is held after afternoon through the summer months. A vacation in Provincetown is not complete without one vist - at least!

CROWN & ANCHOR   - Seasonal
247 Commercial. Rebuilt after the February fire of 1998 this large entertainment complex offers something for just about everyone. "Paramount" is the state of the art dance club; "Waves" the high tech video bar; "The Vault" a down and dirty leather bar; and the "Cabaret Room" featuring headliners and legends.

THE GROTTA AT ENZO's   - Seasonal
Located 186 Commercial. New to the Provincetown scene, this intimate bar offers live entertainment through most of the year.

THE GOVERNOR BRADFORD   - Year Round
Located at 312 Commercial. A popular townie and tourist bar with a mainly straight clientele. Nightly entertainment, chess, checkers and backgammon window tables and a lively crowd!

MIXERS   - Year Round
Located at 177 Commercial adjacent to Bayside Betsy's. A popular cocktail bar, great for meeting friends before heading out on the town.

THE PIED   - Seasonal
Located at 193A Commercial. The "Apre Tea Dance" originated here and the setting is similar to The Boatship but on a slightly smaller scale. Great music, new dance floor and great deck.

THE PORCH BAR   - Year Round
Located at 11 Carver and part of the Gifford House. A great bar sit, drink and hang out friends. Cozy and welcoming, no cover - never!

POST OFFICE CABARET   - Seasonal
Located at 303 Commercial. Upstairs in this popular eatery is a showroom featuring great performers from drag queens to divas.

PURGATORY   - Seasonal
Located at 11 Carver. Also part of the Gifford House, this basement club is mainly a leather bar.

THE ALIBI   - Seasonal
Located at 291 Commercial. This popular bar for townies and tourists features live drag shows and comedians.

VIXEN   - Seasonal
Located at 356 Commercial and part of the Pilgrim House complex. Perhaps the most popular women's bar in town, Vixen has a pool table and large dance floor which also features live music and cabaret performers.
